The 'Suribachi' (Japanese term for grinding bowl) is used for Japanese cooking to crush different ingredients such as herbs and seeds. Features a ribbed unglazed interior referred to as 'kushi-no-me' holds ingredients in the mortar for more efficient grinding.
Mortar is made from white porcelain with exterior glaze. It features raised edges for easy holding and flared base for stability. Pestle is made from oiled hevea. Includes a hevea wooden brush for gathering pulp.
